About Auresta

Auresta is a small eyewear brand based in West London. We make one thing: orange-lens blue light glasses for people whose days and evenings happen on screens, including gamers, developers, students and anyone working from home.

Why an orange lens

Many "blue light glasses" have a clear lens with a coating that reflects a modest share of blue light. We wanted a lens that actually absorbs it. An orange tint does that. In our lab test it lets through just 1.01% of blue light between 380 and 500 nm. The trade-off is a warm cast to everything you see, and we tell you that up front instead of hiding it.

Why we publish the lab results

The category is full of claims nobody can check. So we had our lens tested to BS EN ISO 12312-1 and put the numbers on a page of their own. That includes the results that count against us: at filter category 1 the lens is not for sunny days, and its blue signal recognition score means you must not drive in it.

What we will not tell you

We will not tell you these glasses cure eye strain, fix your sleep or stop migraines. The best evidence, a 2023 Cochrane review, does not support those claims. They will warm the screen, cut glare and reflections, and take the harsh edge off a bright monitor late at night. If that is not what you want, we would rather you knew before you buy.
